MyTravelBuddy.ai — persistent travel companion
An AI travel companion that plans with you, stays with you on the trip, remembers what mattered, and makes every future journey more personal.
Role: Founder / Builder
Problem
Most travel tools stop once an itinerary exists. Travelers need continuity before, during, and after the trip — context, timing, memory, and a journal that does not vanish when the vacation ends.
Role
Designing and building the product end-to-end: companion UX, memory model, conversational flows, and the marketing experience at mytravelbuddy.ai.
Constraints
- Must feel warm and useful — not another spreadsheet-style planner
- Memory and personalization without creepy overreach
- Helpfulness across dream → plan → travel → remember → grow
- Context that surfaces at the right moment (weather, timing, errands)
Approach
- Positioned the product as a persistent companion rather than a one-shot itinerary generator.
- Designed journey stages: dream, plan, travel, remember, and grow — with the buddy present in each.
- Built memory around preferences, routines, and family details that quietly improve the next trip.
- Added situational awareness: weather, timing, movement, and nearby errands when they matter.
- Included a gentle evening journal that captures moments and photos before they blur.
Memory as product
Preferences like scenic drives, grocery-on-day-one routines, and favorite moments should compound — so the next trip feels easier and more personal without re-explaining everything.
Outcomes
- Live marketing presence at mytravelbuddy.ai with a clear companion narrative.
- Product framing that differentiates from trip planners: tool → companion, answers → gets to know you.
- Early waitlist / feedback loop for shaping the buddy people would actually travel with.
